I've been using this dream sequence to experiment with different coloring techniques, and while I've been learning new things (especially with Manga Studio 5), it has slowed me down considerably. But that will change when the dream ends, then it's back to my standard coloring style.

The kiss was unexpected. BTW, I use Manga Studio 5 too!! It's great isn't it??

I love it! It has replaced Photoshop for me. (I also used SAI before switching 100% to MS5.)

Well, I actually am probably going to use both photoshop and MS5 because I haven't figured out how to use the text tool for cool sound effects and stuff. I don't have time to learn because I really need to get the first page of Himitsu Kessha up. Maybe I can make time so I won't have to use 2 programs...what do you think??

I've been messing around with making my own sound effects, while using the many Vector settings and tools. It's still a learning process for me, but I kind of forced myself to stick with one program. I knew I had to learn it eventually, and I was tired of having to use more than one program. But once everything starts to "click", the time I spent fumbling around to learn new things was worth it.

A lot of strips I've seen using MS have looked chunky. I like the lightness of your lines as well as your beautiful color work.

I try to mimic how I ink traditionally when working digitally. I guess that's my own style showing through?

Thank you for the compliment on my coloring. It's my favorite part of the who process. (That and officially calling a page "Done!")

Did you ever use the "Line Stabilizer" tool that Sai offered? and if so, do you miss it?
I just discovered it, and I find it extremely helpful.

I used it all the time. MS5 has it, as well, but it's in the individual settings for each brush. I don't think I would have given up SAI if MS5 didn't have a line stabilizer.

Is the line stabilizer in MS5 called "correction" ?
TheGhost 4th Apr 2014, 9:49 PM edit delete reply
TheGhost
Yup. I think the pen I've been using recently is set on 15. But the "Sketch Marker" I made for roughs has no stabilization. If I'm remembering correctly, I think SAI also allowed each brush to have individual stabilization settings, as well, by double clicking on the brush.
